Manchester-based web hosting provider UKFast have launched a security solution called ‘Threat Monitoring’ in a bid to protect businesses from malicious attacks. With this launch, UKFast aims to leverage host-based intrusion detection (HIDS), vulnerability scanning and file integrity monitoring (FIM) to provide threat detection capabilities to businesses.
According to government statistics of the U.K., nearly half of the region had fallen prey to cyber attacks in 2017. The statistics further reveal that almost 66% of medium-sized firms whereas 68% large-sized firms identified at least one cybersecurity breach or attack.
In a bid to counter these attacks, UKFast say that a coming up with a solution that would analyze data intelligently and distinguish between potential security threat and normal activity was important. Speaking about the new solution, Lawrence Jones, CEO of UKFast, commented:
Without the proper protocols, business owners put themselves and their customers at risk. It makes perfect sense for businesses to bring their security arrangements and their hosting together under one roof.
By delivering the full package of defence measures, we close the support gap that occurs when multiple providers are involved, making our service faster and significantly more cost-effective.
In addition to HIDS, UKFast claim that ‘Threat Monitoring’ also includes Rootkit detection and server baseline hardening to identify hacking activities. They also say that these features will entice a large number of buyers in the market.
