German software company SUSE has locked cloud solutions provider Aptira as their first storage solution partner in the Australian Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. This move is aimed towards providing customers in that region with not only open stack services but also a full range of technical services, systems integration, and solutions delivery.
According to SUSE, Aptira’s know-how and expertise in the APJ region and their complementing product portfolio will be a huge advantage in providing high-efficiency solutions to enterprise and business clients.
Reflecting on the deal, Mark Salter, Vice President at SUSE Channels said:
Aptira has the superior technical know-how and we are impressed with its commitment to provide customers with the best solution possible with no vendor lock-in, which is a philosophy that SUSE as the open source company, also subscribes to.
Salter also added that the APJ region will unlock a plethora of opportunities for open source adoption and enable themselves to maneuver their business plans with ease.
According to a report submitted by Gartner, the Public cloud services revenue in Asia-Pacific region is poised to reach USD 15.8 billion by 2020. It would be interesting to see how companies enter this market to get a bigger pie of the market as years unfold.
