IT services provider Yandex have launched their own public cloud platform Yandex.Cloud to help companies belonging to different segments and industries boost their business efficiency without depending on large-scale investments. With this launch, Yandex will provide scalable infrastructure, AI-based services and automated services by leveraging their AI prowess.
According to Yandex, enterprises of different sizes have specific requirements when it comes to cloud services and tailoring to those needs is necessary to stay ahead in the market. They claim that for any IT services provider, the challenge lies in striking a balance between customizing cloud requirements and maintaining profitability across different sectors.
By launching Yandex.Cloud the IT service provider believes that they will allow enterprises of various segments and sectors to scale their business without having to spend on many resources at once. They also added that for enterprises having less predictable needs (for cloud), Yandex will follow a flexible pay per use pricing model so that they can make the most out of the deal.
Speaking about the launch, Yan Leshinsky, Head of Yandex.Cloud, commented:
Yandex has an entire ecosystem of successful products and services that are used by millions of people on a daily basis. Yandex.Cloud provides access to the same infrastructure and technologies that we use to power Yandex services, creating unique opportunities for any business to develop their products and services based on this platform.
Yandex say that their public cloud platform will provide-
1) Scalable virtual infrastructure- that will be managed with a GUI (Graphical User Interface)
2) Automated services to manage tasks of popular databases such as- MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse etc.
3) AI-based Yandex services- to translate machine languages via SpeechKit speech recognition.
Yandex’s clientele say that they are looking forward to deploying a platform that facilitates scale at a reasonable price. It will be interesting to witness the turn of events in the public cloud market especially, after this event and Acalvio’s launch of security service to protect cloud platforms.
