Cloud neutral co-location provider Interxion have announced that they will be providing direct connectivity to Google Cloud for their customers through their PoPs (Point of Presence) across Paris, Frankfurt, Marseille and Stockholm. With this move, Interxion will be leveraging their interconnectivity platform called Cloud Connect to facilitate hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
Interxion say that they are experiencing a strong demand for private-cloud connectivity services to GCP (Google Cloud Platform) in Europe. They believe that this demand is a result of enterprises requiring different and dedicated architectures to store mission-critical workloads.
By providing direct connectivity to enterprises through their co-location centres across Europe, Interxion claim that they will be able to seamlessly connect customers with Google’s Cloud Platform. They say that with this connectivity, enterprises can experiment with different cloud architectures by leveraging Google’s complete cloud portfolio.
Speaking about this move, Vincent in’t Veld, Vice President, Platforms at Interxion, commented:
We are seeing strong demand for private connectivity services to GCP as customers look to reap the benefits of Google Cloud’s full portfolio of cloud services via a secure, performant and cost-efficient connection.
By colocating at Interxion, businesses can interconnect their private cloud to Google Cloud, as well as to most other leading cloud platforms, making it easy to build hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
