U.S. based hybrid IT service provider Flexential have entered into an alliance with Megaport to expand their cloud fabric network. With this alliance, Flexential seeks to offer customers with an on-demand availability of several cloud providers and network specialists in a versatile, cost-effective way.
According to Flexential, the FlexAnywhere fabric gives access to more than 80 domestic and international carriers, 14 cloud hubs and a large number of peer-to-peer services. They say that the fabric provides high-capacity, secure and low-latency connectivity from server farms and the cloud, directly to the edge.
Since it is secured by their 100Gbps network backbone, Flexential say that the fabric provides single-hop connections from the organization’s growing product portfolio of 41 interconnected edge server farms across the U.S.
With this Megaport alliance, Flexential claim that customers will be getting access to more than 250 networks, data centers, cloud providers and managed services including the likes of AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, SalesForce and Oracle.
Nicole Cooper, EVP at Megaport, Americas believes that innovative data center solutions are in great demand as enterprises embrace cloud services to build and orchestrate applications. She further added that the alliance with Megaport will allow Flexential to extend their services in the U.S. market as well as diversify their cloud portfolio.
Flexential believes that the alliance with Megaport speaks volumes about their massive growth at a global level as well as their vast network landscape. By providing cloud connectivity and on-demand network options, Flexential say that they will allow enterprises to transform digitally through this partnership.
It will be interesting to see how Flexential and Megaport make the most of this alliance, following their Oracle deal with FastConnect to simplify cloud connectivity for network providers in the U.K.
In closing, the hybrid services provider said that they will be leveraging their newly expanded Oregon data center for better connectivity.
