Telco service provider Macquire Telecom (MacTel) have announced the expansion of their Government Cloud capabilities. With this expansion, MacTel will be focusing on cybersecurity and data center services for government organizations to protect sensitive information stored on hybrid and public cloud environments.
According to MacTel, Government agencies and organizations need secure environments to store sensitive data. They claim that these centers should not only have ample storage space but also have tools and products that can add an extra layer to protect this data.
The telco service provider revealed that they did good business since they witnessed a rise of 20% in their net profits for FY 2018. This growth, MacTel claims, gave them the confidence to further expand security and data center capabilities of their Gov-Cloud clients.
MacTel say that in a bid to support this expansion, they will be adding another hybrid cloud node at Perth in Australia. They say that they will also be leveraging their Sydney data center that was expanded a few months ago along with their IC3 (Intellicenter) hub.
Speaking about the expansion, a spokesperson for MacTel, commented:
The first data hall in the new Intellicentre Campus will achieve practical completion in late calendar 2019 with an opening day mechanical, electrical, and plant (MEP) of 2.4MW. Further investment in MEP will be funded by the debt facility.
MacTel claim that they will be providing customized solutions to their Government clients in order to make cloud environments supportive to particular IT architectures. They also added that the data center will be furnished with a state-of-the-art facility as well as high power usage.
David Hirst, Group CEO at MacTel, commented:
The new datacentre will be a Tier III+ facility with an Australian leading PUE of 1.28. It will be certified by Uptime Institute, built to meet Australian government physical security standards, ISO 27001:2013, and support the delivery of credit card payment environments
