Verizon Digital have added round-the-clock managed security services to their Global Cloud Security Solutions for enterprises. By introducing this solution, Verizon aims to provide enterprise customers with expert service providers that monitor, detect and eradicate cyber risks in the cloud environments.
According to Verizon Digital, cyber risks plague the chances of an enterprise functioning smoothly since workloads are hosted on the cloud. They say that these workloads contain sensitive data and risking to lose this data could take business days to re-establish in spite of recovery products in the market.
By adding managed security services to their product portfolio, Verizon Digital say that they will be offering services that complement their current solutions that consist of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Services), WAF (Web Application Firewall), bot management and real-time analytics reporting. They added that with these managed services, Verizon Digital will be able to position themselves as an all-stop-shop for security services.
Speaking about the move, Frank Orozco, Chief Technology Officer for Verizon Digital Media Services, commented:
Any security threat or vulnerability is a distraction of resources and valuable time for a business. By leveraging our managed cloud security feature, our customers can now lean on our dedicated security teams to monitor and protect their web and mobile applications, so they can concentrate on growing their business.
In addition to these solutions, Verizon Digital say that their cloud security offerings also have special features like:
1) Robust origin protection to defend against direct-to-origin DDoS attacks,
2) Unique WAF capabilities to protect in testing and high traffic environments and
3) Advanced HTTP Rate Limiting to absorb the large DDoS attacks.
They also say that Verizon Digital will be providing planning support and recommendations for cybersecurity to ensure maximum protection through web applications.
In closing, Verizon added that they will be commencing with their marketing activities for the solution very soon. The addition of these services seems similar to that of Cisco boosting cybersecurity by adding email security service for their clients.
