Assured cloud service provider UKCloud have launched a security platform called UKCloudX for government organizations. With this launch, UKCloud seeks to protect highly classified government data by aligning with their infrastructural requirements.
According to UKCloud, data security is of great concern given the rising number of cyber attacks. They believe that enough measures need to be taken to safeguard sovereign interests and mitigate cyber threats in advance.
By launching the UKCloudX platform, UKCloud believe that they will not only provide government agencies with a platform to fight cyber risks but also align with their infrastructural needs. They claim that through this cloud platform, they will also help government bodies to adopt new technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and machine learning.
UKCloud say that they have launched a platform that will help their clients to focus on mission-critical needs by leveraging on a cloud-first strategy. Speaking about the launch, Simon Hansford, CEO of UKCloud, commented:
Capitalizing on the same cloud-first approach that has been so successful in accelerating digital transformation and reducing cost across central government, UKCloudX will bring the benefits of cloud computing to bear for secure communications.
By harnessing the potential of the cloud to overcome the long lead times, inflexibility and considerable fixed costs that have traditionally hampered secure communications, UKCloudX will enable far greater innovation and collaboration on sensitive projects.
Industry experts claim that this launch will enable government agencies to mitigate cyber threats at large and focus on protecting highly classified data files. Explaining this, Bernard Brown, Vice Chairman at KPMG UK, commented:
Cybersecurity is a real and growing issue for the UK. (…). UKCloudX enables government agencies and their UK industry partners to focus on the mission, collaborate more effectively and innovate faster to keep ahead of the threats as they emerge.
