Last week, Red Hat announced plans to expand its area of operations to Boston. The new facility will be located in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston’s Seaport District.
Through this project, Red Hat plans to add a new Executive Briefing Center, the first U.S. east coast location for Red Hat Open Innovation Labs and a new Red Hat Engineering Lab. The new facility is expected to open in mid 2017.
Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of Boston said :
By choosing to expand and establish a global showcase location in our city, Red Hat further reinforces Boston’s reputation as a thriving hub for talent and technology.
The company claims that the Boston facility will add 40,000 square feet to Red Hat’s footprint in Massachusetts. With its presence in Seaport, Red Hat plans to be an active member of the Boston technology community.
