ICT (Information Communications and Technology) company NTT Communications have announced that they are expanding their global cloud partnership with VMware. As per the terms of the deal, NTT will help customers to securely migrate to the cloud by leveraging VMware’s ECL (Enterprise Cloud) solution across on-premise and cloud environments.
NTT say that customers are eager to migrate to the cloud from on-premise environments. They believe that cloud environments provide a higher level of agility when it comes to managing mission-critical workloads.
By expanding their ten-year-old cloud partnership with VMware, NTT say that they will be providing customers with an easy and safe way to transit to the much-coveted cloud environments through ECL. They claim that this platform provides two major advantages-
1) Enabling fast and scheduled bulk migration without retesting to reduce the workloads.
2) Connecting on-premise as well as cloud environments to build hybrid cloud environments and meet security needs.
Speaking about this deal, Masaaki Moribayashi, Senior Executive Vice President, NTT Communications, commented:
In the midst of digital transformation, enterprises are accelerating cloud shift from their own on-premises to cloud. This service is the solution, on top of our partnership, that will help enterprises in transitioning their applications to the cloud.
VMware agree with the notion that even accelerated migrations to the cloud should be safe. Ajay Patel, Senior Vice President, Cloud Provider Software Business Unit at VMware, said:
Cloud service providers play a critical role in the digital transformation of enterprises by enabling highly secure global reach, complemented by specialized local delivery capability. We are delighted to have NTT Com offer a compatible VMware Cloud Verified hybrid cloud solution.
