Managed services provider ClearPointe have been acquired by cloud security company AccountabilIT in a bid to expand the latter’s business footprint in Northern U.S. With this expansion, AccountabilIT will be strengthening their cloud portfolio by adding ClearPointe’s migration, transformation and managed products and services.
According to AccountabilIT, enterprises in the U.S. market are well-versed with cloud-based products and deploy a wide range of the same to manage everyday workloads, build applications and secure a large amount of data. They say that this understanding and awareness has raised the expectations from providers and suppliers to facilitate better and holistic cloud services.
By acquiring ClearPointe, AccountabilIT believe that they will not only be expanding their market presence across the U.S. market but will also be providing a holistic suite of cloud products including migration, security, transformation etc. They claim that this acquisition will also catapult AccountabilIT’s standing in the U.S. cloud market.
Speaking about the acquisition, Chuck Vermillion, CEO and Founder at AccountabilIT, commented:
This acquisition is critical in providing AccountabilIT with additional scale and experience needed to maintain our position in the industry. We are thrilled to add ClearPointe’s leadership to our organization. Our strategy will continue to be the same; care about our customer’s success as much as we care about our own company. We will lead this market, one customer at a time.
ClearPointe say that AccountabilIT will be able to leverage their managed services portfolio that includes products provided by public cloud providers like Amazon and Microsoft. They say that AccountabilIT’s application management, database administration, Linux administration and managed security will perfectly complement ClearPointe’s services.
AccountabilIT say that this acquisition was possible because of WestView Capital Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm. Vermillion added:
We are excited to reestablish this relationship. WestView is the perfect financial partner for us. Their leadership and industry insight greatly benefited us in the past and will assuredly benefit us going forward as we continue to expand our business rapidly.
There is much to look forward to in this market, especially after this acquisition and also that of managed service providers like NexusTek and Zumasys, who have come together to provide a wide range of services to the SMB market in the U.S.
