IT infrastructure provider Infineon Technologies have entered into an alliance with Alibaba Cloud to promote IoT (Internet of Things) applications for smart industries and smart cities. As per the terms of the deal, Alibaba Cloud will be targeting SMEs to accelerate the adoption of IoT by creating advanced solutions in partnership with Infineon.
According to Alibaba, the rise of business applications has resulted in the need to manage them through centralized internet-based platforms. They say that IoT has played a huge role in facilitating such platforms since it provides advanced technology that can monitor application performances, especially for SMEs.
By partnering with Infineon, Alibaba claim that they will be jointly producing IoT solutions that will help SMEs track the performance of their applications. They believe that this will not only boost the adoption of IoT solutions within the SME community but also explore the planning, implementation and security standards of the IoT.
Speaking about the alliance, Wei Ku, Vice President of Alibaba Group and General Manager of Alibaba Cloud IoT, commented:
The construction and improvement of the IoT ecosystem requires gathering the advantageous resources and power of all parties.
This partnership combines Alibaba Cloud’s capabilities in operating systems with Infineon’s semiconductor technology solutions. We believe that this will effectively promote the deployment of IoT in smart industries.
