Tech giants HCL and IBM have forged a strategic alliance to help clients migrate their workloads from traditional environments to the hybrid cloud. With this partnership, both entities will leverage their respective cloud platforms to accelerate their client’s digital transformation.

According to HCL, enterprises need a unified cloud solution which will allow them to assess portfolios, build or design applications and offer data migration services. They say that these features have become a bare essential of every enterprise’s IT architecture.

By partnering with IBM, HCL say that they will allow enterprises to collaborate, assist and build joint solutions that include AI capabilities. They say that this alliance will enable enterprises to transform themselves digitally by leveraging IBM’s tooling and methodologies that are built on hybrid foundations.

Denis Kennelly, General Manager at IBM Hybrid Cloud Integration, states that their hybrid cloud solutions combined with HCL’s expertise will simplify clients journey to the cloud via their Cloud Native Labs. He also claims that this alliance will also provide a full road map to those entities that are interested in going the digital way.

Market watchers believe that the alliance is probably a boon for those enterprises that are still lagging behind or are considering taking the digital route. It will be interesting to see how the alliance pans out, following IBM’s partnership with BNP Paribas for digital transformation.
