Data center facilitator Coromatic have entered into a partnership with Goteborg Energi, to build a data center for the latter’s municipal broadband service company GothNet. According to this partnership, Coromatic will enable GothNet with cutting-edge resources to scale and expand their data center.
GothNet say that they are looking to expand their data center capacity in a bid to provide services to their customers across geographies. They further added that in order to meet this need, GothNet have deployed a modular setup which will allow them to increase their scale as per demand.
Emphasizing this, Sofia Söder, CEO of GothNet, said:
By building a new facility, we not only increase the capacity but also increase redundancy and security for our customers. By building the data center in different modules, it will be easy to change capacity as demand increases.
Söder further added that they will be using green electricity and the heat generated by the same will be recovered for their district heating network.
Echoing Soder’s thoughts, Thomas Wunger, Country manager for Coromatic Sweden commented:
We are of course very pleased with the trust that Göteborg Energi has given us. We are looking forward to helping to further strengthen the infrastructure in Gothenburg and do it in a climate-friendly manner.
