Chinese tech giants Baidu have announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership with the Administrative Committee of Xiongan New Area, China to transform the paper-white landscape into a smart city. The alliance is geared towards leveraging AI(Artificial Intelligence) services with the support of cloud infrastructure provided by Baidu.
Baidu say that this move is aligned with China’s policy to establish the Xiongan New Area, located 100 km to the south-west of Beijing as a center of growth for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. They further added that their AI and cloud services will be applied to various industries like transport, education, security and healthcare who are looking to invest in the region.
Delighted on the announcement of the deal, Robin Li, Chairman, and CEO of Baidu commented:
