This week, cloud giant Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of a new office in Bogotá, the capital of Columbia. The company headquartered in Seattle, United States, offers a range of cloud services including compute, storage, security and Internet of Things (IoT) options.
The new office in Bogotá is AWS’ second in Latin America, the first being in São Paulo, Brazil.
AWS says that it currently provides services to leading Columbian companies and government agencies, and that it plans to establish a full team of in Bogotá, with all positions across the board.
The company claims that the Bogotá location was chosen because of the area’s growing demand for cloud services. AWS also has offices in other regions including Australia, China, Germany, Ireland, India, Japan, Korea, and Singapore.
