Cybersecurity software provider Bitdefender have partnered with Nutanix to integrate the former’s cloud workload platform GravityZone with the latter’s AHV hypervisor. As per the terms of the alliance, Bitdefender aim to amplify operational efficiencies in virtual environments through security automation to protect business-critical workloads.

According to Bitdefender, virus threats and malware pose tremendous pressure on the security of data centers and IT infrastructures. These threats, Bitdefender say, leave business-critical workloads stored at these hubs to be compromised.

By integrating their GravityZone platform with Nutanix’s AHV hypervisor, Bitdefender believe that they will be able to protect critical workloads in virtual environments. They say that the combination of AHV and GravityZone will allow their customers to manage their security layers from a single console to provide visibility over datacenters.

Speaking about the alliance, Harish Agastya, VP of Enterprise Solutions at Bitdefender, commented:

As the current threat landscape places tremendous pressure on the modern datacenter, the already overloaded IT operations teams bear a security burden.

The new GravityZone-AHV integration and the GravityZone Nutanix Marketplace blueprint help Nutanix customers achieve just that.

Nutaniza say that the joint benefits provided by them and Bitdefender through their platform will allow customers to keep workloads secure without affecting operational efficiencies. They also added that they have eased the deployment of the platform with just one click to simplify security as well as efficacy.

Explaining the benefit, Jay Chitnis, Senior Director of Strategic Alliances at Nutanix, said:

The Nutanix Enterprise Cloud is a self-healing and hardened platform developed from the ground up with security in mind, offering role-based access control, two-factor authentication, microsegmentation, and FIPS-compliant data at rest encryption.

We’re happy that Bitdefender GravityZone is now Nutanix Ready for AHV and a part of the Nutanix Marketplace. The integration of our solutions will help joint customers leverage the unique security benefits of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud while enhancing the protection of their workloads.
