TIA, IoT Community strike an alliance to accelerate smart cities and infrastructure

The partnership seeks to encourage enterprises to build products and services that will transform cities digitally.

Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the Internet of Things (IoT) Community have joined hands to boost the digital transformation of cities globally. As per the MoU, both authorities have collaborated to build smart cities, vehicle connectivity, healthcare and IoT products.

According to TIA, enterprises relying on telecom and cloud understand the benefit of both technologies and have been leveraging the same to build applications. They say that these technologies facilitate an easy exchange of information that helps them build products that are critical to the business.

By partnering with IoT Community, TIA claim that they will boost organizations to build connectivity products that can transform urban infrastructure radically. They claim that their alliance will pave the way for smart cities, vehicle and transport as well as sectors like healthcare with IoT products that deliver analytics and intellectual prowess to draw insights.

Nancy Shemwell, COO at IoT Community believes that the expertise both organizations bring in together, complement each other beautifully. She claims that to make digital transformation in urban areas possible, ensuring smooth and secure implementation of their initiatives is key.

Market experts opine that this partnership will give a much-needed boost to enterprises that are looking to build upon the cloud-telecom-IoT wave. It will be interesting to see how this alliance makes way for enterprises ahead, following Baidu’s partnership with Xiongan to convert it into a smart city.
