Global cybersecurity firm Comodo hastoday announced a strategic partnership with Bahamian domain name registrar Internet.bs. The deal will enable Internet.bs to provide Comodo’s wide array of digital certificates alongside its domain offerings for the first time.
Internet.bs, owned by CentralNic, are predominantly interested in providing domains with Comodo’s TLS/SSL certificate portfolio. These certificates create an encrypted link between the domain owner’s web servers and the visitor’s computer, offering greater security to all parties. Comodo’s extended validation certificates, which offer identity authentication of the website owner combined with encryption, will be available to Internet.bs customers later in the year.
President of Comodo, Michael Fowler, envisages a fruitful outcome to the partnership, stating:
We are honored that Internet.bs has chosen us as its first ever certificate authority (CA) partner in order to protect its already trusted domains. This relationship is the next stepping stone in Comodo’s efforts to drastically expand our market-leading solutions through strategic partnerships with key companies. We look forward to deepening this partnership with the addition of EV certs later this year and, potentially, other technologies in the future.
This is the second such collaboration Comodo have secured this year. In June, the company announced a similiar deal with hosting solutions provider Trustico.
