Cloud-native networking company Meta Networks has launched a secure cloud NaaS (Network-as-a-Service) platform for businesses and enterprises. With this launch, Meta Networks aim to compete against VPN solutions by providing better security and networking through their cloud-based platform.

According to Meta Networks, their NaaS platform called Meta NaaS allows organizations to connect people, applications, sites through cloud within a software-defined perimeter. They also claim that this platform will significantly reduce security breaches without hampering user experience.

Meta Networks say that their new cloud-native platform is touted to provide better flexibility as compared to traditional VPNs and will replace them in the coming years as well. Echoing their statement, research giant Gartner has also claimed that by 2021, 60% of enterprises will migrate to software-defined perimeters from their current VPN solutions. Hence, Meta Networks say that launching this platform for businesses was timely.

Speaking about the launch, Etay Bogner, CEO and Founder of Meta Networks, commented:

Meta NaaS is a new zero-trust paradigm for the ‘virtual private network’ that revolves around users rather than physical topology. This shift enables enterprises to effectively restore the perimeter by continuously protecting all employee traffic – both corporate and internet – with an always-on VPN.

This approach not only reduces the attack surface, it also reduces the risk of the device being breached via the internet and then harming another part of the organization.
