Earlier this month, Huawei announced plans to offer cloud-based enabling technologies for businesses, focusing on IT. This week, at the Huawei Connect event in Shanghai, they announced an enhanced cloud strategy and solution which will be focused on shaping the cloud.
The theme of the event was “Cloud 2.0”, where the company announced their strategy of extending beyond cloud services to include data center and network virtualization, the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
Huawei sees the cloud as the key to digital transformation and claims to offer supporting software, hardware and services to make it easier for all kinds of business platforms to switch to cloud. The company said that Cloud 2.0 is focused on enterprise and government organizations who require greater security, reliability, intelligence and scalability.
Huawei claims to enable this “industry cloud” with not only hardware but also a new generation of PaaS which will provide specialized services upon which partners can build clouds as well as entire digital systems.
