Digital Realty, a data center, co-location and interconnection solutions provider, announced today the opening of a new facility in Atlanta. The company says that the new facility comprises about 18,000 sq.ft. of capacity and represents a total investment of approximately USD 22 million.
The new facility is located at 250 Williams Street and is connected to the company’s existing facility at 56 Marietta Street in Atlanta itself. Digital Realty claims that the new facility will offer all the advantages of an internal network.
The company says that it offers a full spectrum of global data center solutions and owns 145 properties encompassing about 23 million sq.ft. across 33 global metropolitan areas. This breadth of presence, the company says, enables customers to expand from a single cabinet to a multi-megawatt facility as their needs grow, with no change in providers and no interruption in service.
Chris Sharp, Chief Technology Officer, Digital Realty said:
This expansion builds upon our leadership in the Southeast region, giving our customers new ways to connect, extend their reach and find new business opportunities.
We are very pleased to build upon our existing footprint in Atlanta and to continue growing our relationships and community in this developing technology center.
