Cloud-enabled security provider Barracuda announced that they have entered into an agreement with browser-based workspace provider Awingu to enable workspaces with secure cloud-based and platform-agnostic mobility solutions.
According to this deal, Barracuda’s NextGen Firewalls will protect users, applications, and data while ensuring safe connections among on-premise and cloud environments. Whereas, Awingu will provide easy access to legacy apps, cloud, and data from any device.
According to Tim Jefferson, Vice President of Public Cloud at Barracuda, NexGen Firewalls provide users with the benefit of seamless integration into the cloud provider’s technology. Explaining the simplification offered in detail, Jefferson commented:
Our Cloud Generation Firewalls are designed to provide support for public cloud deployment best practices, support public cloud-specific use cases and facilitate you with a commercial model designed for public cloud consumption.
Echoing Jefferson’s thoughts, Chris Dial, Director of Cloud ISVs, Microsoft commented:
The combination of Awingu and Barracuda’s NextGen Firewall is a unique opportunity for businesses to smoothly move into the Microsoft Azure cloud.
