AWS sets up another innovation center in China

The launch aims to provide cloud computing and big data services to global start-ups.

Tech mogul AWS have launched a new innovation center in Xi’an city, China to focus on incubating startups, transforming and upgrading traditional enterprises and helping local startups to go global in the next five years. With this launch, AWS will provide cloud computing and big data services bring this vision to fruition.

AWS say that China as a business economy is showing signs of flourish given the number of new companies emerging in different fields. They claim that these organizations not only need monetary backing but also need a strong technical spine to compete globally.

By setting up a new innovation center in China, AWS feel that they will be able to orchestrate a huge transition for start-ups holding aspirations to scale worldwide. They also claim that with this innovation center they will be able to entice more investors for startups to catapult them on a global level.

Along with this innovation center, AWS has previously launched innovation centers and joint incubators in Shanghai, Chongqing and the east coastal city of Qingdao. Speaking about the innovation center built jointly with the one in Qingdao, Rong Yongkang, Executive Director at AWS China and Vice President at AWS Global said:

In the next five years, the center will work with Qingdao government to support 750 innovation firms.

Industry analysts say that this move, supported by the government is likely to boost more new businesses in China. It will be interesting to watch the turn of events after the launch of this innovation center.
