Digital security company Avast Software has launched ‘Smart Life’, an IoT (Internet of Things) offering. With this launch, Avast aims to protect critical and sensitive data for small businesses by leveraging Smart Life’s AI technology.
Avast say that rising cyber threats and DDoS attacks have made small as well as large businesses vigilant about internet security. It is this vigilance, Avast say, that has made protecting sensitive business data a top-most priority.
According to Avast, IoT’s rise has been one of the factors responsible for creating this product. They also claim that with this product, they will solve the problem of vulnerable IoT devices by leveraging the platform’s AI prowess to detect and block cyber threats.
Besides providing a security solution for the business segments, Avast say that ‘Smart Life’ will also be providing protection for home networks from botnets, privacy threats and malware.
Speaking about the launch, Gagan Singh, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Avast Software commented:
IoT devices have transformed our homes and workplaces, but the security of these connected devices has not been significantly improved and users are still at risk.
We increasingly expect convenience and enjoyment from smart devices like smart speakers, smart doorbells or IP cameras, but with this rapid adoption comes a real urgency to address the complex challenge of protecting them.
