Software-driven cloud solutions provider Arista will be acquiring WiFi firm Mojo Networks to bolster cognitive cloud capabilities for data centers deploying IoT (Internet of Things). With this acquisition, Arista will be leveraging Mojo’s WiFi network prowess to bring operational consistencies as well as instant scaling capabilities to data centers using cloud-based Wifi networking.
According to Aristo, cognitive cloud helps organizations that have deployed IoT to analyze and interpret data of all sorts that is stored across different cloud environments. They say that this ability enables data centers to provide economies of scale to their customers.
By acquiring Mojo Networks, Arista believe that data centers will be able to make the most out of the former’s cognitive WiFi network and boost the IoT capabilities of data centers with ease. They also believe that organizations using these data centers will not have to worry much about extracting insights and patterns from all data sources.
Speaking about the acquisition, John McCool, Chief Platform Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Arista Networks, commented:
Mojo’s WiFi is disrupting the traditional closed wireless controller model, to bring radical improvements in scale and economics. The synergy between our two companies is a compelling combination for enterprise and campus customers.
