The acquisition aims to enrich Cisco’s network and analyze the same in a bid to help service providers gain visibility, provide security and reduce downtime.
Tech giant Cisco have announced that they will be acquiring Singularity Networks to boost their network infrastructure to the fullest. As per the terms of the deal, Cisco will be able to monitor , augment and analyze network data to help providers, web companies and enterprises improve network performance, manage costs, gain visibility and reduce downtime for customers.
Cisco say that service providers face challenges when it comes to meeting demands for network connectivity and high-speed bandwidth. They say that these providers need a holistic view of their system’s execution in order to envision traffic patterns.
With network automation software and innovative data collection, Cisco say that they are helping their service providing customers to operate their infrastructure.
By acquiring Singularity Networks, Cisco say that they seek to integrate the former’s analytics platform into their own Crosswork Network Automation platform. They claim that this platform allows service providers to automate their networks and access/extract a huge amount of data.
The acquisition, Cisco believe, will allow network operators to proactively avoid disruption of events, virus attacks and threats. They further added that th clarity and visibility provided by Singularity will facilitate 24/7 security and deliver reliable network experiences.
Both entities claim that the acquisition deal is subject to customary closing conditions and will complete in the third quarter of 2019. It will be interesting to see how Cisco take this acquisition ahead, following their partnership with CTERA for enterprise cloud security.
