Chinese government approves Radix’s .HOST, .WEBSITE, .SPACE and .PRESS nTLDs

The approval comes after Ministry of Industry and Information Technology gave their nod to operate the nTLDs in China.

Radix

New gTLD company Radix have been given the nod by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to operate the .HOST, .WEBSITE, .SPACE and .PRESS domains in the country. With this move, MIIT aims to allow customers to not only buy domains but also host their websites on the approved TLDs by using local hosting services.

According to Radix, China is booming with SMEs and startups that are looking to leverage their online presence as a result of growing internet and mobile penetration. They claim that enterprises in the country are backed by the local and central government’s initiatives that are allowing them to advance with bold plans.

By approving Radix’s nine nTLDs, MIIT claim that enterprises in China can build a strong presence in the market and brand themselves with a domain of their choice. They believe that this approval will pave the way for Radix as well as Chinese organizations to explore strategic initiatives that can benefit both parties in the long run.

Sandeep Ramchandani, CEO at Radix states that their nine gTLDs already have approximately 700,000 domain registrations in China. With these approvals, he continued that SMEs and startups can name themselves contextually with respect to their business ideas.

Radix revealed that since the last few years, their focus has always been on building and cultivating end-customer awareness in the Chinese market. They say that to boost this initiative, Radix are also pushing these domains via universities and colleges to promote them among students and professionals.

It will be interesting to see how Radix make the most out of this move, following their largest nTLD sale with CASINO.ONLINE.
