Hybrid cloud facilitator NetApp has expanded the features of its cloud-native file storage service, NetApp Cloud Volumes by adding SMB (Server Message Block) and NFS (Network File System) V3 protocols. With this move, NetApp aims to aid enterprise customers to deploy workloads like video rendering, database monitoring, high-performance computing and continuous integration on the Google Cloud Platform.
According to NetApp, the performance of cloud-native businesses is dependent on accelerating the pace of critical workloads. They believe that enterprises need solid infrastructure that can seamlessly integrate with cloud products such as Google Cloud Platform to fast track business goals.
In order to meet this demand, NetApp have added multi-protocol service on NetApp Cloud Volumes to allow more companies to manage critical workloads. By adding this feature, Cloud Volumes for Google Cloud Platform will be able to provide scalability, rich data management capabilities and a wide choice of protocols to enterprises.
