Data analytics firm Hortonworks have extended their big data partnership with Google Cloud in a bid to provide a competitive edge to their customers. As per the terms of the deal, Hortonworks and Google Cloud will enable customers with consistent metadata, security and data governance across hybrid cloud and multi-cloud architectures.
According to Hortonworks, businesses from all industries are leveraging the combined prowess of big data and cloud to arrive at crucial business insights. They claim that these insights are making the difference between organizations to give them an edge over the other in terms of competition.

Together with Google Cloud, we offer enterprises an easy path to adopt cloud and, ultimately, a modern data architecture.
Google Cloud believe that enterprises are looking to get smarter when it comes to competition by leveraging big data and machine learning. Echoing Murthy’s thoughts, Sudhir Hasbe, Director of Product Management for Google Cloud, commented:
Our partnership with Hortonworks will give customers the ability to quickly run data analytics, machine learning and streaming analytics workloads in GCP while enabling a bridge to hybrid or cloud-native data architectures.
