International cloud computing consultancy Cloudreach last week announced that it has successfully acquired a majority stake in US based cloud computing firm Cloudamize. Capital investment group Blackstone, of which Cloudreach is a part of, oversaw the takeover negotiations via its Tactical Opportunities (Tac Opps) division. Although the financial aspects of the acquisition have not been disclosed by either party, industry experts view the deal as Cloudreach’s next move in its quest to obtain a valuation of USD 1 billion.
As stated in the merger agreement, Cloudamize will now form a new software business unit within Cloudreach while continuing to develop its cloud analytics platform and independent global partner ecosystem. The deal brings together two cloud native firms which offer compatible services and solutions in the fields of cloud consulting, managed cloud services, cloud analytics and cloud automation software.
The merger is expected to catapult Cloudreach’s prominence in the cloud computing market, as CEO of Cloudreach, Pontus Noren, goes on to elaborate:
Today we take the next exciting step in our quest to accelerate intelligent cloud adoption with software enablement of services. When we started our partnership with Blackstone, one of the key priorities was to software-enable all our products.
Combining Cloudamize’s industry leading cloud analytics and migration automation with Cloudreach’s expertise will make it easier for our customers to adopt cloud quickly, efficiently, and at scale. Ultimately it’s all about enabling enterprises to innovate using the power provided by hyperscale cloud platforms either through Cloudreach’s services or via our growing independent partner ecosystem.
Similarly, the Founder and Chairman of Cloudamize, Khushboo Shah, believes the deal will elevate her company’s standing in an increasingly competitive market:
Joining forces with Cloudreach accelerates the vision I had when I originally founded Cloudamize – empowering the enterprise with analytics and automation to simplify cloud decision making. I am thrilled to combine efforts with Cloudreach as it’s time we move the market beyond the brute-force manpower-intensive processes of the past and help our customers focus instead on maximizing the value of their cloud deployments.
Cloudreach was recently named a leader in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Service Providers.
