Cloud infrastructure giant VMware has acquired cloud security startup CloudCoreo to help customers detect risks on the public cloud environments. With this acquisition, VMware will enable customers with threat detection capabilities in order to help them comply with cybersecurity policies.
According to VMware, increasing cyber attacks across public cloud environments signal the need for immediate action on the security front. They also claim that this acquisition will allow their public cloud customers to be informed about any misconfigurations or mistakes in the cloud environment with the help of CloudCreo’s infrastructure stack scanners.
VMware claims that enterprises of all shapes and sizes are an error away from sensitive corporate information becoming public. With this acquisition, VMware say that customers will be able to secure both traditional and modern applications on the cloud.
Explaining the same in detail, Milin Desai, General Manager of Cloud Services at VMware commented:
As a part of VMware, CloudCoreo will enable us to extend our model of supporting consistent operations across any cloud. We will help customers to access the best cloud for the needs of each individual application while optimizing security and compliance.
