U.S-based managed cloud service provider RapidScale have expanded their presence along Rayleigh, East Coast of U.S.A. With this expansion, RapidScale aim to extend their global footprint by leveraging the diverse talent-pool in the area.
RapidScale say that having a strong presence on the West Coast of U.S.A made it necessary for them to establish a presence on the East Coast, in a bid to accelerate growth. By starting off with an office space of 5000 sq.feet, RapidScale say that they will be expanding further in Rayleigh within 2 years. Explaining this, Duane Barnes, Senior Vice President of Technology at RapidScale commented:
Our team used to be predominantly on the West Coast, but to properly service our East Coast customers and improve call coverage hours, it made sense to have an East Coast office.
Raleigh was a natural choice, as we already had leadership based here and a strong candidate pool from the local technology companies and universities. Our initial office space is 5,000 square feet and we already expect to outgrow that in 18 months and continue our expansion in Raleigh.
According to RapidScale, the expansion move is a result of business growth on the West Coast of U.S.A and growing business opportunities along the east coast. They also say that to pave way for their global ambitions, taking this step was necessary. Speaking about this in detail, William Hiatt, Chief Operating Officer at RapidScale said:
As a company with a global footprint that meets the needs of companies throughout the United States, it became necessary to have a presence on the East Coast. We were attracted to Raleigh due to its reputation as an innovation and technology hub.
As a rapidly growing company, it is crucial we have access to a qualified talent pool to meet the diverse needs of our customers. We look forward to taking advantage of the best that Raleigh has to offer for our employees and customers.
Industry watchers are pleased to see RapidScale foraying into the market along the eastern side of the U.S. Emphasizing this, Derrick Minor, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Manager for the City of Raleigh, commented:
We are thrilled to have RapidScale expand and open their East Coast headquarters in Raleigh. They have assembled a world-class team in the heart of our downtown and are exactly the type of company we are looking to have join our community.
