Security software company McAfee have launched a cloud security solution for Microsoft Azure’s IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings. With this all-encompassing security solution, McAfee seeks to secure applications, infrastructure and sensitive business data for Microsoft’s customers, allowing them to build applications in the cloud without any worry.
McAfee say that the process of migrating from data centers to the cloud is not easy since it is filled with a lot of loopholes in terms of security. They also say that these loopholes make sensitive business data prone to attacks and deteriorate the whole system right to its core.
In response to this problem, McAfee claim that creating a robust solution to help detect discrepancies for Microsoft’s Azure customers was imperative. With this new cloud security platform, McAfee say that they will help Azure’s customers detect as well as identify compliance gaps and suggest corrective measures for the same. They further added that this platform will also remove malware from web traffic going through Azure’s infrastructure.
Speaking about the additional advantages provided by this platform, McAfee say that Azure’s customers will be able to detect threats by leveraging their data science and machine learning tools. They also claim that Azure’s customers can prevent the storage of unauthorized data stored in storage devices like Blob storage.
Speaking about the launch of the cloud security platform, Rajiv Gupta, Senior Vice President of the Cloud Security Business Unit at McAfee, commented:
Moving applications, data and workloads to the cloud exposes enterprises to new threats and risks. At the same time, the adoption of cloud allows organizations to transform their business.
This is why we are on a mission to make cloud the most secure environment for business. The introduction of McAfee Cloud Security Platform for Microsoft Azure is an important step to fulfilling this mission for our customers.
