This week, ICANN published an update to the gTLD Marketplace Health Index (Beta). This update presents statistics and trends related to generic top-level domains (gTLDs).
The gTLD Marketplace Health Index was first published in July, 2016. ICANN says that it plans to publish these statistics twice a year to track progress against its goal of supporting the evolution of the domain name marketplace.
To guide the creation of metrics, ICANN has defined its goals such as robust competition, marketplace stability and trust as part of the report.
ICANN revealed statistics based on various parameters of which, total second-level gTLD domain name registrations readings are as shown below:
