Chinese tech company Huawei have partnered with banking giant Standard Chartered and electronics firm Bosch to provide IoT solutions for the global market. As per the terms of these deals, Huawei will leverage their IoT solution OceanConnect to collect data for Standard Chartered whereas, with Bosch, they will integrate Huawei Cloud to provide end-to-end IoT offerings.

According to Huawei, enterprises deploying cloud are leveraging the power of IoT to collect business data. They say that these insights provide enterprises with actionable insights to better business processes and reduce the time-to-reach goals.

By partnering with Standard Chartered, Huawei say that they will leverage OceanConnect to link up with connected devices and collect real-time data through a series of agents while providing user-friendly open APIs to orchestrate business processes.

Whereas, with Bosch, they claim that Huawei will make Bosch’s IoT Suite software available in China on Huawei Cloud to offer cloud-based IoT services with various functions that can connect devices, users, and businesses together.

Speaking about the Bosch deal, Zheng Yelai, Vice President of Huawei and President of Huawei Cloud BU, commented:

Bosch Software Innovations is one of the global leaders in IoT, providing cutting-edge IoT solutions and services. With the technical excellence of Bosch IoT Suite and the reliable infrastructure services by Huawei Cloud, we will provide more intelligent IoT solutions to smart cities, enterprises, families, and individuals.

Huawei claim that the major objective behind both the deals is to position them as a leading provider of IoT solutions in the APAC market. They say that by deploying IoT gateway solutions and leveraging big data technology, they will achieve this goal and foster innovation in the market.

With the Standard Chartered deal, Huawei say that the communication of corporates with banks for finances or payments will become easier. Michael Gorriz, group CIO of Standard Chartered, commented:

We found in Huawei a strong partner who shares our passion to transform the way we would like to support our clients and make banking seamless and effortless for them through the application of cutting-edge Internet of Things technology.

We look forward to piloting the solution with clients and working with Huawei and other technology partners to explore new use cases.

It seems like major tech companies are coming together with other players in the market to boost their IoT prowess. A similar instance can be seen wherein Alibaba Cloud and Libelium partnered very recently to provide IoT solutions.
