Cloud and e-commerce company Exabytes has acquired cloud service provider IWV Malaysia in order to expand its cloud footprint. With this acquisition, Exabytes will expand its market across South East Asia and extend their data center presence in the region.
According to Exabytes, the acquisition will see them offering managed services to businesses adopting cloud. Exabytes also aim to leverage the acquisition to move up in the cloud ecosystem within South East Asia.
Explaining this, Chan Kee Siak, Founder and CEO of Exabytes, said:
IWV Malaysia is our first acquisition in the year 2018, as part of the Group’s strategy to move up the value chain of being an eCommerce and Cloud provider.
Exabytes say that they saw similar synergies with IWV in terms of vision, mission and growth in the growing cloud industry in Malaysia. They further added that they aim to leverage their data center presence in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Hong Kong to dominate the region.
Emphasizing this, Chan added:
Today, the Exabytes Group effectively has 300 dedicated cloud-centric system and application engineers as well as professionally-trained specialists to meet the demand for the managed enterprise cloud services where increasing local demand is anticipated over the next 12 months.
