Data center facilitator eStruxture has acquired Montreal-based data center firm Kolotek in a bid to expand their data center footprint across Canada. With this acquisition, eStruxture will be adding fully equipped data center facility, measuring 40,000 sq.feet of area space to its existing data center offerings.
eStruxture claims that businesses in Canada are in need of disaster recovery offerings and are seeking help from data centers far from their locations. They further added that with the acquisition of Kolotek, eStruxture will be able to provide Montreal-based clients with data center services without any latency issues.
According to eStruxture, this acquisition is a part of their plan to penetrate the Canadian market. They further added that with this acquisition, they will be having a total of three data centers in Canada itself. Explaining the same in detail, Todd Coleman, president and CEO of eStruxture, commented:
Our strategy is to expand across Canada while building capacity and a greater depth of products, all in the service of giving customers more. And with our enhanced balance sheet courtesy of our new invested capital and debt facility, our position is stronger than ever.
Kolotek, on the other hand, say that this acquisition will further allow eStruxture to leverage the former’s network in Montreal. Echoing the statement made by Coleman, Yvan Lefebvre, General Manager of Kolotek commented:
We believe this transaction is the right move both for our customers, and for the continued growth of the data center business built by our Kolotek team. We are very proud of the data center business we have built since 2009 and recognized some time ago that our customers would require more capacity, more locations and more network connections to continue to grow their businesses.
