SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company BetterCloud have launched security alerts for Google’s G Suite software in a bid to allow enterprise IT team monitor malicious activities. With this product launch, BetterCloud aims to protect businesses from unauthorized file downloads and logins from unusual locations.
BetterCloud say that securing software platforms has become essential for organizations running everyday workloads on SaaS products. They believe that this alertness amongst businesses has called for constant monitoring and assessment for anomalies on the platform.
By launching security alerts for G Suite, BetterCloud say that IT admins can set security policies and alerts for certain user activities. They claim that logins from unknown places can automatically trigger an action to counter potential security threats associated with user accounts.
Speaking about the launch, David Politis, CEO at BetterCloud, commented:
Every second of every minute, people are taking actions within SaaS applications such as downloading files, forwarding emails, installing external applications and more. Identifying and assessing anomalous behavior in these circumstances can be highly challenging — and lacking the ability to respond quickly can result in data slipping through the cracks.
According to BetterCloud, taking instant action to mitigate this issue was their only option. Politis added:
We heard this first-hand from customers and are now doubling down and expanding support to G Suite to ensure organizations have a way to eradicate security threats and protect business data in real-time.
