Cloud giant IBM have deepened their alliance with CenturyLink to provide enterprise customers with a better hybrid cloud experience. As per the terms of this deal, IBM Cloud will be reducing overall network complexities for cloud-native customers by providing high-performance and low-latency solutions via CenturyLink Cloud Connect.
According to IBM, organizations require security-rich connections, reliable uptime, flexible bandwidth and low-latency solutions to make the most out of their IT strategies. They believe that in order to bring their IT strategies to fruition, enterprises need to simplify their cloud as well as on-premise infrastructure.
By extending their ongoing partnership with CenturyLink, IBM claim that they will be able to resolve low latency and performance-based issues on hybrid cloud only to transform enterprises digitally. They believe that this alliance will help enterprises to lessen the weight of their business-critical workloads and reach business goals quickly.
IBM say that the alliance with CenturyLink Cloud Connect will provide customers with two options:
1) Direct link connect – To gain private access to IBM’s cloud infrastructure via a VPN connection for multi-cloud connectivity.
2) Direct link dedicated – To provide a dedicated wavelength for fast, consistent and reliable data transfer.
Speaking about this, Paul Hertzfeldt, Offering Manager at IBM Cloud Direct Link, commented:
Both options are offered on a global basis and optimize network architecture for low-latency and high performance. They’re designed to satisfy even the most demanding enterprise workloads and compliment your hybrid cloud strategy.
