Cloud storage provider Cloudian have acquired software-defined file storage provider Infinity storage. With this acquisition, Cloudian will leverage their existing relationship with Infinity, offering customers with object-based as well as integrated file storage solutions.
According to Cloudian, businesses are looking for ways and means to manage large heaps of unstructured data. By acquiring Infinity, Cloudian believe that they are on the right path to resolve this problem.
Speaking about the acquisition, Cloudian say that they had launched Cloudian Hyperfile NAS (network attached storage) controller with Infinity, to deliver an enterprise-level file service from Cloudian Hyperstore. Since both parties witnessed synergies in terms of vision, mission and growth while working together, Cloudian say that acquiring Infinity was the next logical step.
Explaining this in detail, Caterina Falchi, Founder of Infinity Storage commented:
For more than a decade, Infinity Storage software has helped enterprise customers simplify file management with enterprise-class features that provide a familiar user experience on next-generation storage platforms. While launching HyperFile with Cloudian, we immediately recognized that our company cultures and technologies meshed perfectly. We are genuinely thrilled to be joining the Cloudian team.
Cloudian believe that the acquisition allows them to offer scalable solutions to clients in little or no time. Emphasizing this, Michael Tso, CEO of Cloudian, commented:
This acquisition further accelerates Cloudian’s efforts to reduce IT workloads with self-protecting and easy-to-scale file systems that analysts agree are critical for next-generation storage management.
Not only does Infinity bring deep technology expertise to the table, but also our two companies’ cultures fit perfectly, with the same uncompromising dedication to the customer, to the team and to technical excellence. We are excited to be growing together.
