Data center and telco designing company Vertiv has completed the acquisition of data center and PDU (power distribution units) facilitator Geist. With this acquisition, Vertiv have fortified its cloud, co-location and edge offerings by adding Geist’s Rack PDUs to their portfolio.
Vertiv say that with the recent acquisition of Geist and Energy Labs, which happened last month, they will be able to provide a combined offering of design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities to their clients. They further added that this strategic move, that has come into being one after another, will further boost their position in the data center facilities and co-location market.
Explaining the same in detail, Rob Johnson, CEO of Vertiv commented:
This acquisition fits our strategy of adding complementary capabilities to accelerate growth in our key markets – cloud, colocation and edge. By adding the Geist portfolio, we further strengthen our position in the PDU industry and add power management choices for our customers.
Johnson further added that their back to back acquisitions of Energy Labs in January and Geist in February speak volumes about their aggressive growth ambitions. In closing, he said that the terms of the deal will not be disclosed and that both companies will operate in tandem towards diversifying their market.
