Edge and network service facilitator DC Blox has expanded its data center in the city of Alabama, U.S.A. With this expansion, worth USD 13 million of investment, DC Blox will provide mission-critical infrastructure to edge computing clients coming from education, defense, manufacturing and healthcare industries.
According to DC Blox, the edge computing market is underserved when it comes to data center services. They further added that with this expansion, they plan to fill this gap and develop the market for edge computing companies based out of the region.
The new facility located at Alabama will provide a strategic advantage to DC Blox as well as their clients, explained DC Blox. They further added that along with this data center, they plan to roll out four more interconnected edge data centers in the same region. Explaining this in detail, Jeff Uphues, CEO of DC Blox commented:
Huntsville, Alabama represents a perfect location for our next data centre and aligns well with our strategy of delivering highly available data centre and network services to Edge markets. The design, build and operation of this data centre will accommodate clients who must manage and protect confidential unclassified and classified information which are a critical segment of the Huntsville economy.
DC Blox said that they plan to unveil the first phase of this data center by the end of summer 2018.
