Sources say that American communications company CenturyLink is likely to merge with telecommunications provider & ISP, Level 3 Communications. This deal could create an enterprise telecommunications company worth more than $50 billion, including debt.
The deal is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, however, sources say an agreement has not yet been reached and that the deal could yet fall apart.
It has been reported that the deal comes as both companies’ corporate clients seek more bandwidth and faster capabilities to move data to run their businesses. The deal would combine Level 3’s enterprise services with CenturyLink’s network that provides Internet and telephone offerings to millions of customers.
The terms of the deal have been undisclosed and are likely to be revealed once the merger is confirmed.
