Yesterday, AT&T announced its new strategic relationship with Amazon Web Services. The company says that the alliance will let joint customers use AWS’s cloud services over AT&T’s network.
The companies say that the deal is designed to help new and existing customers switch to cloud and to assist them with security, analytics and Internet of Things.
AT&T stated that NetBond, which is a method of connecting using a virtual private network, will play a major role in the partnership. The company’s network already connects nearly 29 million devices in 200 countries and those devices can be managed with AWS’s IoT services.
AT&T will employ its Threat Intellect technology to provide analytics that help AWS users improve security.
Mo Katibeh, Senior Vice President, Advanced Solutions, AT&;T said :
For many enterprises, the cloud’s potential can be equal parts tantalizing and challenging. Emerging technology trends and fluctuating needs mean that a company’s plans are dynamic, and can quickly change.
Together, AT&T and AWS can help streamline the leap to the cloud. We’re helping businesses connect everything and anything to the cloud.
More importantly, we’re doing this so it can be simple, scalable and highly secure.
