TierPoint to build new data center in Texas

The co-location and managed IT provider is set to spend $20 million on the first phase of this facility

TierPoint, a US based IT company has announced plans to build a new data center in Allen, Texas. The initial phase of this facility will include an investment of over $20 million and 16,000 sq.ft. of raised floor.

The work on this data center is set to start immediately and the company expects the facility to be operational by next spring. TierPoint has teamed up with Compass Data Centers to construct the building which is designed to eventually grow to 90,000 sq.ft. and is located alongside an existing Cisco facility.

Chris Parsons, Regional VP, TierPoint said :

We see companies moving northward in the Dallas markets, organizations want to be close to their data.

That’s why we made the decision to build the next facility up in Allen.

The new facility will be TierPoint’s 40th data center across 18 American states. Parsons also mentioned that the company already has one Dallas facility in Irving Boulevard.

He added :

Our data center is filling up here in Dallas. We are seeing more demand for service in this market.
