Globant finds ‘perfect partner’ in Avanxo for LATAM growth

The acquisition seeks to boost Globant’s presence in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Argentina after witnessing a huge spike in demand for cloud transformation.

IT firm Globant have acquired LATAM (Latin American)-based cloud firm Avanxo to boost the former’s presence in the region. With this acquisition, Globant will be expanding themselves across Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina to help enterprises transition from traditional enterprises to modern global powerhouses with cloud technology.

According to Globant, LATAM is an untapped market which has enough enterprises wanting to take strides with global enterprises. They say that these enterprises, worth billions, still run critical workloads on old-school architectures and are looking to turn around the alignment of their IT infrastructures.

By acquiring Avanxo, Globant claim that they will be able to expand their product offerings across the untapped LATAM market and transform enterprises digitally. They say that with this transition, enterprises will be able to boost their critical workloads and integrate newer technologies to broaden their solutions.

Pablo Villareal, CIO at Globant claims that with the transition to the cloud, security will follow suit. He states that this demand will allow them to partner with other cybersecurity providers and launch new products, platforms and infrastructure to secure digital transformation.

Industry watchers claim that LATAM’s progress as a cloud-native region will be boosted with this acquisition. They further added that this move will help enterprises in LATAM to think globally, following CyrusOne’s partnership with ODATA Brasil.
