AWS to open new office in the Middle East

The company will open a new office in Manama, Bahrain which will be its first in the region

This week, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that it will open its new office in Manama, Bahrain. AWS has global headquarters in Seattle, United States.

The newly announced Bahrain office, located in the capital is scheduled to open on January 1, 2017.

The company says that the Bahrain office aims to cater to tech entrepreneurship in the Middle East and to support organizations of all sizes, including government organizations. The company’s first Middle East office in Bahrain will facilitate AWS Cloud Training and Global Certification programs to develop cloud skills within Bahrain.

Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB)’s said :

The Bahrain EDB is committed to helping drive forward the development of a strong and supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Kingdom.

The AWS team will provide invaluable support to all Bahraini organizations as they move to the cloud.
