Web Werks data center achieves HIPAA compliance certification

The company will now extend its services to organizations in the health industry

This week, Web hosting provider Web Werks announced that it has achieved HIPAA compliance certification by meeting the security standards required to maintain health care information.

HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a set of standards that apply to organizations involved in healthcare and who store patients’ records. To achieve HIPAA certification, companies have to undergo third-party auditing.

After achieving the HIPAA certification, Web Werks says that it can now offer its services to those in the health industry. Web Werks is headquartered in Mumbai, India and provides services including cloud and VPS hosting along with dedicated servers and co-location. The company’s Mumbai center’s HIPAA compliance was audited by Panacea Infosec.
