Telserv, iBasis sign strategic deal to boost global reach in UCaaS market

With this deal, iBasis will allow software-driven providers to expand their reach to the UCaaS market by leveraging Telserv’s cloud-based portfolio.

Telecom provider Telserv and iBasis have entered into a strategic partnership to boost their combined presence in the UCaaS (Unified Communication as a Service) market. As per the terms of the deal, iBasis will allow software-driven and programmable communication providers to expand their reach through the former’s worldwide network and leverage Telserv’s cloud-based virtual numbering portfolio.

According to Telser, the OTT industry is witnessing an all-time boom with UCaas and CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service) markets demanding voice, messages, video and real-time communications embedded into applications, websites, business workflows. They say that these markets (UCaaS and CPaaS) together are estimated to grow up to USD 41 billion by 2021.

By partnering with iBasis, Telserv claim that they will enable communication providers to leverage the former’s global routing platform that has a huge network. They claim that this network will allow Telserv to reach UCaaS and CPaaS markets present in every nook and corner of the world.

Telserv claim that through this alliance, they will facilitate a large scale cloud numbering platform with complete API capabilities.

Market analysts believe that the UCaaS and CPaaS services are gaining prominence and their affiliation with the cloud industry will see many enterprises joining the queue. They also said that this industry has taken a major turn ever since Blueface merged with competitor Star2Star in a USD 500 million deal for UCaaS.
